This week we are taking a look at Full Moon’s blu-ray releases of Ted Nicolaou’s 1991 Subspecies, 1993’s Bloodstone: Subspecies II and 1994’s Bloodlust: Subspecies III. We also talk a little about the fourth and why it isn’t on BD (spoiler: we don’t know) and about how bad the so called 5th film Vampire Journals is and how it really has nothing to do with the series. We also bitch a bit about Turner Classic Movies Ghostbusters and Halloween set fiasco’s, Scream Factory’s newly announced titles and whether or not it’s too little too late for Arrow Video to open a US Distro.
Side note: We recorded late and I had been awake for about 20 hours so I forgot to read our emails and play the Dead Air bumper. I apologize and will get them back next week. Promise. Or just blame Chuck,
This week we do not have the interview we were talking about last week and I give some explanation why. It was damn near impossible to ever happen, but I gave it a shot. I lost. Anyway, we have a go at Blue Underground’s blu-ray double feature of Bruno Mattei’s HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD and RATS: NIGHT OF TERROR which will be available August 26th and we finish off the Full Moon Classics Volume One Boxset with David Schmoeller’s NETHERWORLD! We give you guys one more shot at our contest from last week.
This week on Exorcast I am joined by The Newsfinder General and were are here to talk about some movies. First up we have a double feature from Full Moon with Shadowzone and Seedpeople! We also have an indie, art house horror to talk about called A Measure Of The Sin. We discuss a bit of horror news including the new 40th Anniversary edition of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre Black Maria edition from Gorgon Video and some convention news. Also, be sure to let us know what you think the metaphor from A Measure of the Sin means and the best one will win something! Send those in next week either by email, Twitter or Facebook!
This week it’s episode 100! Fucking Insane! We celebrate by reviewing Grindhouse Releasing’s An American Hippie In Israel on blu-ray! We also tackle two Full Moon titles from the Full Moon Classics’ Volume One box set; Arcade and Bad Channels! Chuck gives us an update on the situation that his first feature film Morbid is in! There’s also a bit of Twin Peaks and Fire Walk With Me talk going on as well!
This week on Exorcast I am joined by Chuck Conry, Newsfinder couldn’t make it this time and Vincent…well no one expected him to show. This week we report the new Scream Factory news as it is announced live at SDCC. No, we aren’t there, but Chuck was hitting that refresh button every 4 seconds! This week we review Vinegar Syndrome’s blu-ray release of the Massage Parlor Murders, Wild Eye Releasing’s The Perfect House starring Felissa Rose and Full Moon’s 1992 classic Demonic Toys on blu-ray! We also have a review of the highly talked about Under The Skin starring Scarlett Johansson. The film she is naked in… not just a little bit naked, but a lot naked.
This week on the show I am joined by Chuck Conry and Mr. Vincent Renfield shows up but doesn’t speak for some reason… So I went ahead and snapped a picture of him and posted it on our Facebook page to prove he was here. We discussed Fullmoon Features‘ Castle Freak blu-ray directed by Stuart Gordon which stars Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton. We review Richard Griffin’s indie slasher Murder University from Wild Eye Releasing. We also review the highly anticipated return of Lucky McKee, with All Cheerleaders Die which was co-directed/written by McKee and Chris Siverston and sent to us by RLJ Entertainment. Last but not least we take a look at the Israeli black comedy/revenge film that has audiences torn, Big Bad Wolves! Written and directed by Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado. Tarantino named it the best film of last year, how do you feel about that statement?
